In the 1880’s Guiseppe Mazzini, a 33 degree Mason, spearheaded the Italian revolutionary movement to bring about a unified and independent Italy by making use of a secret society to do it.  These revolutionaries were called “Young Italy.” Their goal was to free Italy from the control of monarchy and the Pope.

While Mazzini succeeded and is honored as a patriot in Italy, in the process, the Mafia was born.

John Daniel, “Scarlet and the Beast,” Vol. I., (pages 330-331) writes that Mazzini’s secret society “…supported themselves by robbing banks, looting or burning businesses if protection money was not paid, and kidnapping for ransom. Throughout Italy the word spread that “Mazzini autorizza furti, incendi e attentati,” meaning, ‘Mazzini authorizes theft, arson, and kidnapping.’ This phrase was shortened to the acronym, M.A.F.I.A. Organized crime was born.”

Likewise, former Confederate General, Albert Pike, a 33 degree Mason, Grand Commander of the Southern Jurisdiction of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry influenced by Guiseppe Mazzini, founded the Ku Klux Klan (“KKK”).

To which, the Ku Klux Klan instigated riots throughout the South in an attempt to disrupt reconstruction and incite a second Civil War.

The Freemasonry Grand Commander, Albert Pike, gave Klansman Jesse James the assignment of robbing Northern banks in order to get money to fund this war. It is estimated that Jesse James and other Klansmen buried seven billion dollars worth in gold all over the western states. (“Scarlet and the Beast,” Vol. 3, pages 76-77).

But instead, rumors of the gold being disbursed and laundered through Freemasonry offers up a theory why no Gold stash has ever been discovered.

Both by design and membership overlap, Freemasonry, the Ku Klux Klan and the Mafia, all share the same values of humility, a respect for the rules, and for the hierarchy. Like Freemasonry, the Mafia and KKK are made up of local organizations that are independently run, but share alliances and concerns with other families, which the Mafia calls “cosci.”

Members of the Mafia turned “states evidence” declare Freemasonry is linked directly to organized crime, especially, the Italian Mafia.

One of these witnesses testified that when one of the strong Italian mafia families had any problems with those in judiciary power they simply had to go to the Masons to have it rectified. It is further suggested significant leaders in Italian mob families attain their positions of power only by becoming Master Masons.

Those who left Freemasonry state the Mafia is codependent on Freemasonry, to elude any external form of accountability outside their existence. Their criminal allegiance to each other, is why there exist the rule:

“You must conceal all crimes of your brother Masons…and should you be summoned as a witness against a brother Mason be always sure to shield him… It may be perjury to do this, it is true, but you’re keeping your obligations.” – Edmond Ronayne, Handbook of Masonry (page 183).

Italy’s Commissione Parlamentare d’inchiesta sul fenomeno della mafia e sulle altre associazioni criminali similari – (Commissione Parlamentare Antimafia) — Relazione sui Rapporti tra Mafia e Politica, Page 59, Roma 1993, had this to say:

“The committee feels that the link between Cosa Nostra and institutions is mostly through the “Massoneria” (freemasonry) — The fundamental terrain on which the link between Cosa Nostra with public officials and private professions was created and reinforced is the Massoneria. The Massoneria bond serves to keep the relationship continuous and organic. The admission of members of Cosa Nostra, even at high levels, in Massoneria is not an occasional or episodically one, but a strategic choice. The oath of allegiance to Cosa Nostra remains the pivot point around “uomini d’onore” (men of honor) are prominently held. But the Massoneria associations offer the mafia a formidable instrument to extend their own power, to obtain favors and privileges in every field: both for the conclusion of big business and “fixing trials”, as many collaborators with justice have revealed.”

One must admit that the secrecy of what goes on behind Freemasonry doors is the perfect setting for the illegal activities of the organized crime sector.

The allegiance goes well beyond the borders of Italy, however, given the leaders of the Chinese Mafia are in most cases Freemason members, as well.  In as much as, a predominately Chinese Freemasonry lodge in Australia had been indicted for their borderline organized crime activities that includes using intimidation to force compliance of others to forgo collecting on the debts of Freemasonry members.

Its interesting to note when one goes back in History to the 1800’s that all forms of societies and organization memberships were prohibited by Police Acts. In Australia, this law was strictly enforced. But inexplicably, excluded enforcement of this law against the Society of Freemasons.

Transitioning to 1997, based on allegations of corruption there was the Wood Royal Commission into the Australia’s New South Wales Police Force. It was deemed that the Freemasons had exercised control here, as well. In fact, the Police Commissioner at that time was a well-known Grand Master and, subsequently, because of this investigation, he resigned.

With this type of Police Investigation and significant evidence surfacing its understandable why many individuals are growing wary of Freemasons.
