Join the Bear Ridge Solar Project team for its Solar 101 Open Houses to learn about the proposed utility-scaled project, and its anticipated benefits to the Cambria and Pendleton communities. The Open Houses will be held from 4 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday, October 3 at Niagara County Community College and Thursday, October 4 at Cambria Volunteer Fire Company Hall.
“The Bear Ridge Solar team believes that by developing close partnerships with communities we can deliver the highest quality solar project possible. We are committed to ensuring our neighbors in the Cambria, Pendleton, and Lockport area have the information they need about solar technology, and how Bear Ridge Solar can deliver reliable, low-cost power to the region,” said Marisa Scavo, Co-Project Developer. “We look forward to hearing ideas from the community about how we can make this the best project possible.”
Bear Ridge Solar is a 100-megawatt solar project proposed by Cypress Creek Renewables for the communities of Cambria and Pendleton. The Solar 101 Open Houses are the first in a series of informational events as part of their public involvement program. They are designed to answer questions about the project, identify the anticipated project economic benefits including job creation, inform the public about the Article 10 review process, and how they can get involved and share thoughts and ideas. Attendees will also have an opportunity to learn how this project like all Cypress Creek Renewable projects in New York helps to restore the health of native pollinators—including bees, butterflies and hummingbirds—and improve soils to support agriculture.
