Although this word is literary a synonym to the word “stability,” it is used in a very different context nowadays. A brief search online will reveal that sustainability is now more of a concept rather than a word – a practice of being knowledgeable and responsible for one’s impact on the natural and social environment.

Save energy

Well, this is particularly easy and very financially convenient, especially for the students. So, let’s start with water. Using a shower instead of a bath is not only healthier but also more sustainable. You will use less water, thus saving more money! I guess it’s the easiest way to understand how to be more sustainable. 

The next thing is to save energy through electricity. A no-brainer. You might remember your parents telling you to turn off the lights if you’re not in a room, or something like that. Well, it saves quite a lot of money and reduces pollution! Electric energy efficiency is one of the steps to solving our global ecological problems, and that’s why people like Elon Musk are working on some crazy things to make that happen.

All the things I listed can teach us much about sustainability. For example, buying just as much as you can consume is reducing waste, thus being an example of the social-environmental sphere. An environmental-economical category is represented by the practices that save energy and your personal money, thus helping the environment! Finally, an economical-social category is represented by the use of eco-bags and reusable containers, which be a signal for the companies to give more attention to their practices. When talking about being sustainable, everything is interconnected, so we can make an impact!
